Many of you know that my father Earl passed away last Wednesday morning (8/7).  I am sorry if you are first learning of it here.

I am very grateful for my dad and his life.  He was so excited about our wedding after meeting Rosa last year.  He looked forward to the celebration and opportunity to spend extra quality time with Eve, Victoria, and a new extended family.  On his last day he expressed disappointment in the timing of things, but thankfulness that we could all be with him at the end.

Despite his passing, because of his support, best wishes and expressed intention, we are still able to enjoy each others' company, share good times and memories.  In his honor on Sunday the 25th, my hope is that each of us will be present to the precious few moments we have with each other.  Those moments will never repeat the same way in the future, and as such create the possibility to savor them even more.

Details have been finalized for the reception at SydneyTown.  Fun begins at or after 7pm until the wee hours.  There should be plenty of parking in the downtown area since it is a weekend night, however a taxi is recommended ;)

Parking is not as difficult as it might appear.  Guests should arrive early, allowing an extra ten minutes to park.  Often there is a reasonable amount of street parking nearby.

There are also parking garages within four-five walking blocks:

UCSF Laurel Heights Campus at 3333 California St. (at Walnut):  map

This parking lot has 55 parking spaces and is available to anyone, anytime and is first come, first serve basis. You would need to purchase a parking receipt from the pay station.

Sunday Luncheon at Larsen Valley

Our hope is that you can join us for a luncheon on Sunday at the Larsen Family Ranch at Apple Hill.  My cousin Lynn will be arranging our lunch which will be served outdoors in the meadow surrounded by the shade trees.  A sampling of local wines will be available as well.

Fairmont

My sister Cara can often get a friends and family discount for lodging at the Fairmont.  So far no luck due to the LV Cup and Americas Cup races going on this summer.  But we will continue to check... and hope...

VRBO - Vacation Rental By Owner

This is a great option if you want to share a large space with other guests.  Many folks in SF provide a very competitive option to hotels, renting out their beautiful homes.  

AirBnB is another otption, similar to VRBO.  The fees are slightly higher but is much easier to book a space.
